New to the USA

Categories: Blog | Posted on Sep 4, 2019

Well, if you remember in Febrauary this year I jumped on a UK ship that had a promotion for travel agents. They were trying to break into the American cruise market. It seems they have failed. I could NOT recommend that cruise line to anyone. It was just ok. I am opened minded and willing to try most anything at least once. Did it and done!! If all you wanted was transportation to get to your destination – ok. We want more than that while cruising.

Well now there is another UK cruiseline trying to break into the American market. They are doing a lot of hard advertising. Their ships look awesome.Totally fancy – tinsel and glitter. Luxurious looking – like maybe you better dress in tuck n tails just to walk around the ship. They will have 7 new ships coming out between now and 2027. All the new ships will have the latest technology – real time communications. They have been in the cruise business in the UK since 1989. They have specialized in Mediterranean, Europe and Africa cruises.

So, now they are here in the USA. I am trying one of the ships out in Feb. 2020. I originally heard great things about the cruiseline from fellow agents at an industry event. However, after checking out Google and searching for more reviews I am getting a different picture – one much like my Feb. cruise -mmmmmm! I still have to go so I can sell the cruises to you. They are offering “Hella” great deals. Unfortunately, they are concentrating on the Caribbean. This years hurricane season may break all that up!.

Anyway, I took their academy classes so I can be more informed. It was very exciting and truly made me eager to get on the newest ship coming sailing here in November. (I wonder where else will they go since the Caribbean may be too torn up?). They are vyying HARD for our business – $139 for a 4 day cruise, $439 for a 7 day cruise, $989 for a 15 day cruise. Unheard of prices! I am sceptical though from the mixed reviews and my own personal experience with another “new” UK ship in America. So far, it seems they have the decor right (maybe a little over board but, pleasing). It seems they may even have the entertainment on point. – at least for the main shows. The BIG quest will be the food. You KNOW how we like our food – lots of variety and plenty of it. Some of my colleagues are going on the maiden voyage in Novemeber. I am interested to hear what they have to say.

So, stay tuned. I will have more information to share with you from my own personal experience come Febraury, 2020.

MarshaAgogo – gone.
