New York to DC

Ok, I’m still dealing with the logistic of this trip. Timing is EVERYTHING. So, my first choice for NYC was Sept. 9-13th, which happens to be fashion week. That sounds great BUT, the hotel rates are W A Y up. AND we cannot be in DC for the weekend because that is the only time you must have a pass to get into the museum. I don’t want ot deal with passes. Too many hoops to jump through to get passes.

I would like to go to a taping of the Stephen Colbert show, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah or even the Wendy Williams show. HOWEVER, they do all of their taping Monday through Thursdays. Getting tickets for these ain’t easy. There are limits on how many tickets you can get. They only make them available 2 – 5 weeks in advance. AND, even if you get tickets it doesn’t guarantee entry! I totally see why the audiences of these programs are so hyped up. They are so flippin’ happy to have made the cut. I know I sure would be.

Ok, so now back to when to go? So, now I’m considering going to New York on a Wednesday. We won’t get there until Wednesday evening. So that day is gone already. That will give us one day to catch a taping. Stay 3 days in NYC and check out on Sunday. We get a weekend in “the City.” Leave by train to Washington DC on Sunday – about a 2 hours train ride. Do DC for 3 days and leave for home on that Thursday. So, that makes the trip 8 days.

Now the other side of this trip – as long as I am on the East Coast I have GOT to go see my grandbabies. So that is looking like Thursday to Virginia, stay 5 days and come home. Whew! I’m working it out.  I’m glad I’m writing about it because that helps me to visualize it. I learn better that way.

Ok, thanks for listeing. LOL
