Why you want insurance

Categories: Blog | Posted on Jul 11, 2018

I will repeat myself about this many times – It should be a no brainer – ALWAYS get travel insurance/vacation protection. You don’t have to get it from me BUT, you should get it.

Ok, so my last entry was about the 3 day Casino cruise to Nassau. Well, one of my best buds was on that cruise. The day we were getting off I got a text from her saying she was the first one off the ship by way of ambulance. WHAT??? She had fallen walking across the deck. She went to the ships’ medical who transported her to  a Miami hospital’s ER. They kept her for 2 days. She was hurt, nothing broken and she is STILL hurt 16 days later – and will be for a while. She is black, blue and purple on one side of her lower extremities. She has Kaiser and thank God she had bought travel insurance from me.  She thought the travel insurance only covered cancellation. I informed her she also had medical and airline coverage on that policy. She was SO, thankful.  Kaiser only covers so much. So, she has some back up.

Case #2 – I got a call from a lady referred to me by a friend. The lady, I will call Xaria, had bought an expensive cruise cabin for herself – no roommate – to the tune of $7000 plus a $450 hotel package. She was truly pampering herself. (Good for her – somebodies has to do it!) Anyway, there was a death in the family. She is now looking for someone to transfer that cruise package. Good luck. The cruise is with a 2 week period and the cost of a last minute airline ticket is a grip – not to mention $7450 mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Xaria did NOT have travel insurance.  Boy, does THAT suck! Even had she bought the cheapest policy it would have covered death in the family and she could get some money back. As it stands her choices are limited – go on the cruise and miss her father’s funeral or not go on the cruise and loose the money. After talking with me she will ALWAYS get travel insurance.

We are NOT our intentions. We mean well and just KNOW we are going on our vacation. BUT – gets n the way. We never know what’s in store for us. Just like my sneeze (see last post) – if I were going anywhere, I would have had to cancel.

YOU AIN’T GOT TO GET IT FROM ME BUT, GET TRIP INSURANCE! Again, can you afford to pay for a trip and not go. I can’t.

MarshAgogo – gone
